Bonita Norris

Adventurer & Author of "The Girl Who Climbed Everest"

Bonita Norris is not only the youngest British woman to reach the top of Everest; she accomplished her dream with no previous climbing experience. Delighting audiences with her rivetingly rocky journey from a novice climbing wall to 29,029 feet above sea level, her story leaves audiences inspired to overcome their own personal mountains.

On the 17th of May 2010, at the age of 22, Norris took a record-breaking step onto the top of Everest. And she did not stop there. Since then, this humble and passionate individual has skied to the North Pole, led charity teams, and climbed a total of five Himalayan peaks—three of which are over 8000m high. Then in 2017 she published her first book "The Girl Who Climbed Everest". An icon for British adventurers, a youth ambassador for numerous education institutions, and previously nominated Cosmopolitan Woman of The Year, Norris is a beacon of what it is possible to achieve with enough determination

Norris has broken mountaineering records, and in 2012 became the third British woman to ever climb the world’s 4th highest peak, Mt Lhotse; considered a technically more difficult climb than Everest.

Norris is a sought after motivational speaker and event host and has spoken internationally for world famous brands over the past 8 years, including Bentley Motors, IMG WME, Veolia, Zurich, PWC and Roche to name but a few. Her speeches are light hearted, heart warming and with inspiring messages woven throughout. Norris' story reveals the power of small steps, and maybe some stubbed toes on the way. From a life-changing phone call, to an indoor climbing wall, to the tallest summit above sea level, Norris' journey translates to the highs and lows we experience in our everyday lives.

Norris lives in London with her partner and outside of climbing is passionate about psychology, sociology and paleo-anthropology. She is also a qualified yoga teacher and is focused on writing more books in the future.
