Bonnie McEneaney

New York Times Best-selling Author and Inspirational Speaker on 9/11

Bonnie McEneaney's husband, Eamon, was a senior vice-president at Cantor Fitzgerald, working on the 105th floor of the North Tower on 9/11. When he died in the attacks on the World Trade Center, McEneaney thought she had lost him forever, until something unexpected happened that shook her to the core and reassured her that her husband would never entirely leave her. Messages: Signs, Visits, and Premonitions from Loved Ones Lost on 9/11 (William Morrow) is a collection of stories from families of 9/11 victims remarkably similar to her own, and serves as evidence that love surpasses the boundaries of life. With the tenth anniversary of 9/11 nearing, McEneaney is the perfect speaker to shed a positive light on such an unspeakable tragedy.

As McEneaney reveals in her groundbreaking keynote speeches, she began to have experiences that convinced her that her husband, in spirit, was sending her messages that he was still present and watching over his family. A mother and former business executive, she had always been quite skeptical of the spiritual world -- but after talking to several hundred other family members and friends of loved ones lost on 9/11, she realized she was not alone. Numerous others connected to the tragedy -- from financial executives to stay-at-home moms -- described their own experiences: premonitions, signs, dreams, visitations, and communications through mediums and psychics. Bonnie began recording their compelling stories in a groundbreaking four-year-long project, illuminating the power of love and the unbreakable bond that love creates. She also emphasizes the degree to which people having these types of experiences have been able to find hope and renewed faith, as a result- helping them better navigate their grief and/or other difficult circumstances in their lives.

McEneaney holds a B.A. from Brown University and an MPS from Cornell University. She had a long, successful career in the financial services industry as a senior executive and more recently, changed her focus to writing. Before Messages, she published A Bend in the Road, a compilation of her husband's poetry. McEneaney is a Board member of Voices of September 11th, the leading advocacy group for 9/11 families. She has four children and lives in New England.
