Bowen Yang began his career with "Saturday Night Live" in 2018, initially joining as a writer before progressing to an on-air cast member in 2019. His distinctive performances, including impersonations of Kim Jong-un, Andrew Yang, and George Santos, led to a historical nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award in the Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category in 2021. This marked the first time an "SNL" featured player received this recognition. Yang's television portfolio extends beyond "SNL," with appearances in shows like "Girls5Eva," "Ziwe," "The Other Two," and a recurring role in "Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens."
