As a former elite men's tennis player, in 1990, Brad Gilbert was ranked the No. 4 singles player in the world and the U.S. men's No. 1. Gilbert's love and participation in the US Davis Cup team are prolific. Impressively, Gilbert played on Eight Davis Cup Teams from 1986, 1989, 1990, 1991, and 1993, accompanied Andre Agassi on US Davis Cup Team from 1994 - 2002, and Andy Roddick from 2003 to 2004. Gilbert also represented the United States as an Olympian. In the first year that tennis was listed as a sport in 1988, Gilbert brought home the Olympic Bronze Medal and proudly coached Andre Agassi in winning the Olympic Gold Medal in 1996 and Andy Roddick's 2004 Olympics.

Gilbert is best known today as an expert strategist and analyst for ESPN and coach to the world's top pros like Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, Kei Nishikori, and Sam Querrey, among many other elite juniors. Recognized in the tennis world for his success, encyclopedic knowledge of the sport, and outspoken and candid nature on and off the court. It also makes him one of the most winning coaches in tennis history, with two World Number 1 players, Andy Roddick, and Andre Agassi.

Gilbert coached Agassi to six Grand Slam titles and an Olympic Gold Medal in eight years, one of the most notable player-coach partnerships of the Open Era. He helped Andy Roddick to the 2003 U.S. Open championship, also getting him to the 2003 Year End World No. 1. He brought Andy Murray to the top ten as a newcomer and teenager on tour. Gilbert's 2011 work with Kei Nishikori made an astounding leap from 98 in the world to world ranking to top 25 by year-end. He's the only coach in the history of the ATP rankings (since 1973) to lead two players to a year-end No. 1 ranking.

Gilbert had a career record of 519-288 and won 20 singles titles in 13 years as a professional. He is considered a leading strategist and the best-selling author of Winning Ugly. Translated to over a dozen languages and still growing, he has sold over a million copies worldwide.
