Branko Milanović, a Serbian-American economist, holds a significant position in the field of income distribution and inequality. His academic pursuits have led him to various esteemed institutions where he has contributed his expertise. Since 2014, he has held a research professorship at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. In addition, he has been an affiliated senior scholar at the Luxembourg Income Study and has lectured at the London School of Economics and the Barcelona Institute for International Studies. Milanović's contributions extend beyond academia as his work has been featured in notable publications such as The Economist and Financial Times.

Milanović's research and insights have been encapsulated in several books, including "Worlds Apart," "The Haves and the Have-Nots," "Global Inequality: A New Approach for the Age of Globalization," and "Capitalism, Alone: The Future of the System that Rules the World." His work on the "elephant-shaped curve," a visual representation of income distribution, has been widely acknowledged.
