Brenda Maier is a picture book author, mother of five, public school teacher, and board member of OAGCT, the Oklahoma chapter of the National Association for Gifted Children.

Maier loves traditional tales and writing stories that speak to the experiences of kids today; happily, sometimes, those two loves intersect, such as in the Ruby stories. When Maier is not teaching or writing, she likes to read, cook, or go on adventures to new places with her family.
