Brian Arrigo

Mayor, Revere, MA

Mayor Brian Arrigo is a fourth-generation, lifelong resident of the City of Revere.

He was elected Mayor in an upset victory in November 2015, defeating an incumbent Mayor by promising significant reforms to professionalize and modernize city government.

In his first 18 months in office, Mayor Arrigo oversaw a number of important reforms and initiatives in Revere. The City commissioned a Human Resources report to address HR deficiencies, and instituted its first Human Resources department, after years of being the largest city in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts without one.

His administration established the Substance Use Disorder Initiatives office, becoming one of the Commonwealth’s leaders in focused efforts toward tackling the opioid crisis.

The City has also invested in the creation of a 311 customer service system, which launched October 2017 and partnered with the cutting-edge StreetScan program to put together a comprehensive, transparent plan for the future repair of city streets.
