Brian McAndrews

Former CEO, President, Chairman at Pandora

Brian McAndrews has spent his career driving growth and innovation for leading technology, advertising and content companies. Even before his time spent as the CEO, President and Chairman role at Pandora, Brian was a venture partner at Madrona Venture Group, where he focused on early-stage technology companies. As a Senior Vice President at Microsoft from August 2007 through December 2008, Brian successfully integrated aQuantive to create the Advertiser & Publisher Solutions Group, one of Microsoft’s priority business initiatives.

Brian served as President and CEO of aQuantive, one of the fastest-growing global digital marketing companies in the world, from 1999 to 2007. In August 2007, Microsoft acquired aQuantive for $6 billion. At the time of the acquisition, aQuantive was one of the ten largest marketing services companies in the world and included three distinct business units: Razorfish, Atlas and DRIVEpm. aQuantive had 50 offices in more than 20 countries and employed more than 2,500 people at the time of its acquisition.

Prior to aQuantive, Brian worked for ABC, holding senior executive positions at ABC Sports, ABC Entertainment and ABC Television Network. Before that, he served as a product manager for General Mills.

Brian was named Advertising Age’s first-ever Digital Executive of the Year, and was designated one of the 30 most influential executives in advertising, marketing and media in Adweek’s 30th Anniversary issue. For the latter, Brian joined Oprah, WPP’s Sir Martin Sorrell and Rupert Murdoch among others as a person whose work reshaped the business and whose vision will be felt broadly across various industries for years to come.

He currently serves on the boards of Amplero, Placed, The New York Times Co., and Grubhub. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in economics from Harvard University and he graduated from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
