Brian Michael Bendis is an award winning comics creator, New York Times bestseller and one of the most successful writers working in mainstream comics. For the last fifteen years, Brian’s books have consistently sat on the top of the nationwide comic and graphic novel sales charts.

Cameras have started to roll on SONY’s live action series based on POWERS, the Eisner award-winning comic series by Brian and Mike Avon Oeming, for the Playstation network with Brian as exec producer. The show stars Sharlto Copley, Eddie Izzard, Susan Heyward, Noah Taylor and Michelle Forbes. Showrunners Charlie Huston and Remi Aubuchon are at the helm.

For Marvel entertainment, Brian is currently the writer of ALL NEW X-MEN and UNCANNY X-MEN bringing about a new renaissance for the X-Men franchise. Brian has also launched a brand-new GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY series. All three books debuted at number one on the national sales chart.

Brian’s recent release from Random House entitled WORDS FOR PICTURES is an intricate look at the creation of comic books and graphic novels based on the college level Graphic Novel class he teaches at the University of Oregon and Portland State University. It shot to number one on it’s Amazon chart.

Brian is a member of Marvel studios’ creative committee, which consults on their numerous ongoing film projects. He has consulted on THE IRON-MAN TRILOGY, CAPTAIN AMERICA 1 & 2, THOR 1 & 2, THE AVENGERS and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Currently he is consulting on the second wave of Marvel movies including ANT MAN, CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 and AVENGERS 2.

Before that, Brian completed 9 years helming Marvel’s popular AVENGERS franchise by writing every issue of the NEW AVENGERS plus debuting the hit books AVENGERS, MIGHTY AVENGERS and DARK AVENGERS along with the wildly successful ‘event’ projects AVENGERS VERSUS X-MEN, HOUSE OF M, SECRET WAR, SECRET INVASION, AGE OF ULTRON, and SIEGE.

Brian is one of the premiere architects of Marvel comic’s Ultimate line of comics. He has written every issue of ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN since it’s best selling launch in 1999, and has also written ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR, X-MEN, MARVEL TEAM UP, ORIGIN, SIX, CATACLYSM and the ENEMY trilogy.

Brian’s creator owned projects include SCARLET (w/ Alex Maleev), BRILLIANT (w/ Mark Bagley), the Eisner award winning “POWERS,” “UNITED STATES OF MURDER INC.” and “TAKIO” (w/ Mike Oeming) and the Hollywood tell all “FORTUNE AND GLORY’. All published through the Marvel ICON line.

He was a writer and consulting producer for the Disney XD series ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN. He is currently writing and developing a comedy animation pilot for FOX Sunday nights entitled THE BLAST.

Brian was recently the head writer of the massive multiplayer online game MARVEL UNIVERSE for Marvel and Gazillion games and is currently help create the Marvel expansion to the Disney Infinity franchise.

He is the creator of the JINX line of crime comics published by image comics. This line has spawned the graphic novels GOLDFISH, FIRE, JINX, TORSO (w/ Marc Andreyko) and TOTAL SELL OUT.

Brian has won five EISNER awards, including ‘Best Writer of the year’ two years in a row and was honored with the prestigious INKPOT award for comic art excellence. Brian is the recipient of the Cleveland Press ‘Excellence in Journalism’ Award and was named “Best Writer of the Year.” by Wizard Magazine and Comic Buyer’s Guide for three consecutive years.

He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Alisa, his gorgeous daughters Olivia, Tabatha, Sabrina, his dashing son London and his dogs Lucky and Max.
