As a young, aspiring student-athlete and musician, Brittany Dorsey grew up in the inner city of Detroit, MI. She overcame a number of obstacles whilst maintaining her music, academic and athletic career. As a graduate of Detroit's Cass Technical High School and as a Division 1 student athlete at Rhode Island's Providence College, Brittany took advantage of her opportunities and prospered in mentoring, music and sports. She assisted in leading Providence to the Elite 8 of the WNIT tournament in 2010. Dorsey played women's basketball professionally in Europe before traveling the world with the Harlem Ambassadors as a professional show woman for 5 years. As only the second female in history to lead a professional men's showball team, Dorsey has visited 49 of the 50 states and has spoken to and entertained thousands of people all over the world. After having shared her personal testimony in over 500 school assemblies, in 2017, Brittany created the ITK In The Know youth mentoring movement and sports program. ITK is an international movement and a resourceful outlet which assists in character development and the understanding of life skills, the importance of education and sports. It is important to spread positive vibes throughout the world by keeping our youth motivated and active. Brittany’s interactive school assemblies and fundraising events include a number of ITK representatives ranging from professional athletes to professors and artists.
