Bruce Hoffman      

Professor at Georgetown University & Visiting Senior Fellow for The Council on Foreign Relations

Bruce Hoffman has been studying terrorism for four decades. He is a professor at Georgetown University and the Shelby Cullom and Kathryn W. Davis visiting senior fellow for counterterrorism and homeland security at the Council on Foreign Relations. He previously held the corporate chair in counterterrorism and counterinsurgency at the RAND Corporation. Hoffman was appointed by the US Congress as a commissioner on the 9/11 Review Commission. He has been scholar-in-residence for counterterrorism at the Central Intelligence Agency; adviser on counterterrorism to the Coalition Provisional Authority, Iraq; and adviser on counterinsurgency to Multi-National Forces-Iraq Headquarters, Iraq. His books include Inside Terrorism and Anonymous Soldiers.
