Warren Anderson Mathis was born March 6, 1977 and known by his stage name Bubba Sparxxx, is an American Southern rapper. His biggest hit is "Ms. New Booty" featuring The Ying Yang Twins which peaked at in the United States. In addition to the commercial success of his "Ms. New Booty," Sparxxx is noted for his hit singles "Back in the Mud" and "Ugly".

Born Warren Anderson Mathis on March 6, 1977, Sparxxx grew up in a rural area north of LaGrange, Georgia, a town 65 miles southwest of Atlanta. His father was a school bus driver, and his mother was a grocery store cashier. His closest neighbor, who lived half a mile away, introduced Mathis to rap music through mixtapes mailed from New York City. The music of 2 Live Crew was his introduction to hip-hop; he began listening to West Coast gangsta rap such as N.W.A and Too Short and the Atlanta duo OutKast. With rapping as a hobby, Mathis was a tight end and linebacker for his high school's football team and earned All-Region honors in his senior year. Steve Herndon, a former offensive lineman for the NFL teams Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos, played football with Mathis during high school, according to an interview with Down-South.com. In 2007, he moved from Atlanta to Tampa.

After high school Sparxxx moved to Athens, Georgia in 1996. He met industry veteran (and now manager and business partner) Bobby Stamps after Stamps noticed him rapping after a University of Georgia football game. Mr. Stamps arranged for Sparxxx to work with many artists in Athens and Atlanta to complete his first CD. His first commercial CD release saw some success in Georgia, and the album Dark Days, Bright Nights caught the attention of Jimmy Iovine of Interscope Records. Sparxxx signed to Interscope Records and began working with record producers Timbaland and Organized Noize. The major-label reissue of Dark Days, Bright Nights, released via Timbaland's Beat Club Records imprint, which now included five collaborations with Timbaland and two with Organized Noise, debuted at on the Billboard 200. In 2002, he had a minor hit being featured on Archie Eversole's "We Ready", which became popular for being played at sport events, such as football and basketball games. In late 2003, he returned with his second album, Deliverance, which was critically acclaimed but sold poorly.

Sparxxx signed a deal with Virgin records in 2004; under Virgin, Sparxxx released The Charm with singles "Ms. New Booty" and "Heat It Up". He left Virgin to establish his own label, New South Entertainment, which is distributed by E1 Records. In 2007, he released a mixtape titled Survive Til You Thrive. He stated in an interview that he planned on releasing an album to be called The Eighteen Inch Journey, in late 2010.

Sparxxx has also appeared in the video games Def Jam: Fight for NY and Madden NFL 2004. Bubba's song "Back in the Mud" was used by ESPN's "College Gameday" as the 2003 and 2004 theme song. Bubba has participated in a number of television productions and collaborated with the popular "Girls Gone Wild" brand to shoot two DVD's detailing life as a rap star. Bubba has recently been featured on MTV's "My Super Sweet Sixteen" (Kristy Landers episode) and was a mentor in MTV's "Celebrity Rap Superstar". Bubba has been a guest on each major late-night show, including "Saturday Night Live", as well as "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." In 2003, Bubba donated his time to travel to the Kuwait and Iraq and perform for U.S. troops along with blink 182, Wayne Newton, Kid Rock, and many other musicians, actors and pro athletes.

Bubba Sparxxx : Deliverance
This is it for Timbaland. Sure, he’s produced many a landmark record. Rarely, though, since his early defining steps with Missy Elliot can he have had as much emotional and career investment in a project as he does here, on Bubba Sparxxx’s follow-up to his 2001 debut. Bubba hit pay-dirt with his debut single ‘Ugly’, a bruising slab of hicksville hip hop from the dirt tracks of the New South that featured both Missy and Timbaland riding on tractors and Bubba wrestling pigs in the video. The accompanying album, however, felt incomplete and as Timbaland’s showpiece release from his Beat Club it fared poorly in comparison with his rival Dr Dre’s work with his own welfare white rapper, Eminem. ‘Deliverance’ therefore is Timbaland and Bubba’s chance to set the record straight. This it does well enough. The album has a coherency that was absent first time around, and there is also a rattling freshness to the sound that Timbaland has rustled up. Everything from fiddles, Missy’s ‘Work It’ (cheeky!) and Justin Timberlake to the buzzing of insects are mixed in with the thick, warm beats to create a real down home on the farm feel. It’s ambitious and dense and never less than breathtaking. The only problem is that despite the brilliance of the music, Bubba remains quite a boring bloke. He has next to nothing to say other than he’s from the South, he likes a beer and it’s great to be back. It’s a drawback that Timbaland seems to has noted too as Bubba’s raps are mercifully low in the mix.

For Immediate Release: Bubba Sparxxx Returns With Video Trailer & New Album 'Pain Management' Bubba Sparxxx has released a video trailer for his new video "Country Folks" online at http://smarturl.it/BubbaSparxxxYouTube. The video will be released on August 7, 2013 and is the latest single from Bubba's Sparxxx upcoming new album, 'Pain Management'. Produced by Hideout Pictures, the video was shot in Athens, Georgia and features Rehab's Danny Boone and Colt Ford. The new video follows the critically acclaimed "Splinter," video featuring Crucifix which depicted Bubba's rise from self-destruction to resurrection. A native of LaGrange, Georgia, Bubba Sparxxx first hit the country rap scene with his smash hit "Ugly" in 2001 from his platinum certified, debut album 'Dark Days, Bright Nights' produced by Shannon 'Fat Shan' Houchins of the successful record label, Average Joes Entertainment, and superstar producers Timbaland and Organized Noize. It was followed-up by the critically acclaimed 2003 release 'Deliverance'. Today, Bubba Sparxxx continues to collaborate with Houchins on their foundation of blending musical genres. His third project, 'Pain Management', is set to be released in fall 2013. Quick to remind every artist trying to break the mold of traditional and mainstream music to keep steady in creating their own path in music, Bubba encourages his fans to remember that his brand of music isn't particularly mainstream country music, and it isn't rap music, but it has a home somewhere in-between the two.
