Head Basketball Coach, Texas A&M Aggies

Brent Williams began his college basketball-coaching career in 1994 at Texas-Arlington after earning his degree in kinesiology from Oklahoma City University. In 1998 he landed his second assistant coaching job at Texas A&M-Kingsville and after earning his masters degree in kinesiology he moved to Northwestern State. From 2000 to 2006 he served as an assistant coach at Northwestern State, Colorado State and Texas A&M before being hired as the head coach at the University of New Orleans in 2006. After one year at New Orleans he was hired as an assistant at Marquette and was eventually hired as their new head coach after one season in 2008. In his first season at Marquette he led the Golden Eagles to at 25 win season and would go on to lead his team to back-to-back NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances in 2011 and 2012. In 2013 he topped that performance with a Big East Conference regular season championship and an appearance in the Elite Eight. After the 2013 season he was hired as the new head coach at Virginia Tech University. Williams led the Hokies to three NCAA Tournament appearances before heading to his home state to coach the Texas A&M Aggies in 2019.
