Byron Allen is a businessman, film and television producer, and comedian. He is the founder of the Allen Media Group (also known as Entertainment Studios), which has interests in television production, broadcasting, film production, and digital media.

Allen owns one of the largest cable network portfolios in the industry, including 36 ABC-NBC-CBS-FOX network affiliate stations in 21 U.S. markets, and twelve 24-hour HD television networks serving nearly 220 million subscribers. Allen Media Group also produces, distributes, and sells advertising for 73 television programs, making it one of the largest independent producers/distributors of first-run syndicated programming for broadcast television stations. Additionally, with a library of over 5,000 hours of owned content across multiple genres, Allen Media Group provides video content to broadcast tv stations, cable networks, mobile devices, and multimedia digital around the world.

Allen Media Group is the first African-American-owned multi-media studio producing and distributing content for all platforms. As owner of The Grio, which was bought by NBC, Allen Media Group also provided highly-rated digital video-centric news to the African-American community.

Allen began his career as a stand-up comedian and made a name for himself with appearances on popular television shows such as "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson." He serves on the Motion Picture & Television Fund Board of Governors.
