President University of Southern California

    1. Max Nikias is the president of the University of Southern California (USC). He holds the Robert C. Packard President’s Chair and the Malcolm R. Currie Chair in Technology and the Humanities, and chairs the USC Health System Board. Nikias is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and a charter fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. Among his numerous honors, he is a recipient of the IEEE Simon Ramo Medal. Nikias speaks frequently on topics that include “value versus cost” of college education, the future impact of online education, the role of the modern research university in society, and the importance of the arts and humanities in an increasingly technological world.
