Since breaking into the fashion industry at age 19, Camila Alves has excelled as a model, designer, and entrepreneur. The combination of her casual chic Brazilian aesthetic and strong work ethic has made Camila a personality and brand to watch.

Camila was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, spending her childhood on the beaches of Bahia and the farmlands of Minas Gerais. At the age of 15, Camila risked everything and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream career in fashion. Though she arrived speaking only Portuguese, Camila picked up English while cleaning houses and waiting tables, eager to break into the modeling industry. At 19, her dream led her to New York and then around the world—from Paris and Milan to Asia and Africa.

Throughout her modeling career, Camila has had the pleasure to work with top names in the industry, shooting with renowned photographers and appearing in top magazines. In July 2012, Camila was named the face of Macy's I.N.C. International Concepts. The Brazilian beauty appeared in television commercials, as well as print campaigns for the brand.

In 2010, Camila accepted her first television role, serving as the host of the third season of the hit reality show Shear Genius on Bravo. She has also co-hosted The View and appeared as a guest on Rachael Ray, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Fashion Police and Chelsea Lately.

Throughout her extensive travels, Camila has also honed her keen sense of style. Troubled by the lack of functional yet chic handbags, Camila partnered with her fashion designer mother, Fatima, to create the MUXO handbag line in 2005. After the success of their initial launch of high-end accessories, they developed a more affordable MUXO collection for QVC.

Camila balances her growing design and modeling career with her role as a busy mother of three (Levi, Vida and Livingston) with actor husband Matthew McConaughey. Together McConaughey and Alves are co-founders of j.k.livin, a foundation that supports healthy lifestyles for young people across the United States.
