2018 Miss America, "Certified Wish Granter" for Make-A-Wish

Cara Mund, a Brown University honors graduate, made history by becoming the first woman from North Dakota to be awarded the coveted title of Miss America.

In her role as Miss America, Cara has embarked on a national speaking tour “Use Your Voice -Make A Difference” addressing audiences on the importance of empowerment through education, community service, and entrepreneurship.

During her year as Miss America, Cara also serves as the National Goodwill Ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, visiting youth treated at children’s hospitals and raising awareness. She also works tirelessly on her personal platform, Make-A-Wish Passion for Fashion, raising over $78,500 to make miracles happen and she supports the troops through her work with the USO DC-Metro.

Cara has appeared at national events such as Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Taste of the NFL Party with Purpose and national broadcasts, including the Live! With Kelly and Ryan, Hallmark’s Home and Family, Good Morning America, E! News Daily Pop, Extra TV and more.

Prior to becoming Miss America 2018, Cara earned a bachelor’s degree in business, entrepreneurship, and organizations. She also completed an internship in the Washington, DC, office of U.S. Senator, John Hoeven of North Dakota.
