Carl Eller  

Former Professional Football Player('64 - '79)

Carl Eller is a former professional football player and a current member of the NFL Hall of Fame.  Eller played for 15 years in the NFL as a defensive end.  In 1964, he was drafted in the first round by the Minnesota Vikings.

While with the Vikings, Eller was a member of the defensive line who became known as "The Purple People Eaters." In 1968, the Vikings went on to win the NFC Central Division.  They would go on to win a total of 10 Central Division titles in an 11 year span.

In 1979, Eller joined the Seattle Seahawks and following that season retired from professional football.   Throughout his career, he was selected to six Pro Bowls and was considered the most honored defensive player of his time.

Most recently in 2006, Eller was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
