Often known as a pastor to many well-known people like Justin Bieber, Hailey Baldwin, Kyrie Irving, and Selena Gomez, Carl Lentz is the senior pastor of Hillsong Church in NYC, which he co-founded with his wife Laura Lentz and Joel Houston (son of Brian Houston who founded Hillsong Church in Australia). He’s originally from Virginia Beach, VA, and moved to LA after college to study at the King’s College & Seminary. He was working as a doorman at a store on Rodeo Drive when he met a man who wrote him a check for just enough money to move to Australia so he could study at Hillsong International Leadership College. It’s there that he met Joel and Laura. He and Laura got married and moved to New Jersey where they currently reside with their three children. Hillsong is a non-denominational Christian church founded in Australia whose mission statement is: “To reach and influence the world by building a large Christ-centered, Bible-based church, changing mindsets and empowering people to lead and impact in every sphere of life.” Carl is dedicated to reaching every person, no matter what age group, nationality, religion, etc, to empower them to help others and be leaders in their communities to impact change.
