Casey Anderson

National Geographic host

The host of "America the Wild With Casey Anderson," Casey grew up in Montana surrounded by wilderness and animals, and was nicknamed the "animal magnet" as a kid. After college, he became an animal keeper and trainer at wildlife parks, traveling to elephant orphanages in Kenya, hanging out with crocodiles, and even getting thrashed by a mountain lion.

Then a baby grizzly bear named Brutus came into his life. Brutus was born in an overpopulated wildlife park. Casey rescued him from being euthanized and built a sanctuary for him, which became Montana Grizzly Encounter, a bear rescue and education facility. Brutus now assists Casey in teaching park visitors about grizzly anatomy and conservation.

Casey has been involved in film and television production for more than 15 years. In December 2011, Caseys film, "Stalking the Mountain Lion With Casey Anderson" kicked off the second annual Big Cat Week. Casey and Brutus were also featured in the Nat Geo WILD series "Expedition Wild." He has led two expeditions to Botswana's Okavango Delta for the HD wildlife series "Untamed" and, working with Brutus, shed light on the fate of Yellowstone's vulnerable "Island" population of grizzlies in Expedition Grizzly for the National Geographic Channel in April 2009.

An enthusiastic and passionate advocate for wildlife as well as an entertaining and thoughtful presenter, Casey Anderson offers an exciting personal account -- illustrated with riveting images and footage -- of the lessons he's learned living and working with wild animals.

Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind

Awareness breeds appreciation, appreciation produces love, love produces activism. But often the very characteristic that keeps an animal alive is that animal's future death sentence. Out of sight, out of mind. And if you do not know, then why should you care? How can you care? As a tracker, wildlife expert, and filmmaker, it is my responsibility to be the voice of the voiceless, to cast the spotlight in the shadows that are seldom seen and to tell a story that has been lost and forgotten.

Here is a story of such beasts, and a call to action to save them.

My Wild Life

Born in Montana, Casey has been immersed in the wild since he was very young. Befriending rattlesnakes as a child, getting lost in the wilderness during a snowstorm, and his adventures as a National Geographic Filmmaker are just a few things that has molded Casey into who he is. Exciting stories coupled with amazing images, Casey will tell you how the wilderness and living 'instinctually' can teach you lessons of survival, purpose, and love. Introspectively, it will challenge the audience to take a different look at how beautiful the world really is.

Bear With Me

Casey discusses his unique relationship with Brutus and offers insight into grizzly bears and wild animals, in general. Through hair-raising stories from the field, his life with Brutus, and the lessons learned along the way, Casey explains how his experiences have made him a better person, and have nurtured in him a passion to help preserve the planet.
