Catherine Ayoub is an associate professor at Harvard Medical School, as well as a director of Mental Health Consultation Services and director of Research And Evaluation at Brazelton Touchpoints Center at Boston Children's Hospital,

Ayoub a developmental and licensed counseling psychologist with research and practice interests in the impact of childhood trauma across the life span, and the development and implementation of prevention and intervention systems to combat risk and promote resilience with emphasis on young children.

Ayoub is both a psychologist and nurse practitioner with over 40 years of experience in working with young children, their families, and communities. Her research and practice interests focus on consequences of early trauma and resilience on child and adult development; and on design, implementation, and evaluation of prevention/intervention systems to reduce risk and promote healing. She has championed community participatory research approaches that help bring to scale innovative prevention and intervention systems. Author of over 170 publications, Catherine has a special interest in Latinx and Native American communities. Her forensic practice includes national work with courts across the country.

Ayoub also holds an appointment at Harvard Medical School and is senior staff at the Law and Psychiatry Service at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she serves as a forensic mental health expert for children and adults involved with the legal system.
