Catherine Hicks is an actress with a diverse body of work in film, television, and theatre, best known for her role as 'Annie Jackson-Cameron' on WB/CW’s most popular TV series, 7th Heaven, which ran from 1996 to 2006.
Born in Manhattan and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, Catherine received a degree in theology and English Literature from University of Notre Dame and a masters of fine arts in theatre from Cornell University.
Directly after graduation at Cornell, she moved to New York City. Within one week of her arrival, Ms. Hicks landed her first role as ‘Faith Coleridge’ on the daytime drama Ryan’s Hope. Shortly thereafter, she co-starred opposite Jack Lemmon in the acclaimed Broadway play Tribute.
Hicks’ film resumé includes an impressive array of projects, including Peggy Sue Got Married, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, Garbo Talks with Anne Bancroft, The Razor’s Edge with Bill Murray, Turbulence with Ray Liotta, Star Trek IV, cult horror classic Child’s Play, and Better Late Than Never with David Niven and Art Carney. Catherine recently completed principal photography on indie features Callers, My Name is Jerry and telefilm Secret Society.
She also starred in the HBO film Marilyn: the Untold Story, for which she earned an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in 1981.
Her personal passions range from genocide in Darfur, starvation around the world, the elderly, teenage struggles and animal rights. Catherine has first-hand knowledge of the issues that address the health, welfare, and socialization of the elderly in our society. As an only child, she has practical experience in dealing with the dilemmas of an aging parent with dementia, caregivers and quality healthcare.
Catherine is always eager to promote the validity of faith as a basis of social action and personal healing, and she can also speak on the turmoil of depression and OCD from witnessing her daughter’s struggles with it as a teenager. Finally, she can talk anywhere, any time to any group of working mothers and address the issues they encounter.
Hicks resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Kevin Yagher, who is a writer, director, and special effects artist.
