Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Republican from Spokane, Wash., is the House Republican Conference chair and a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee. The highest-ranking Republican woman in Congress since November 2012, she oversees House Republican messaging efforts, pledging to reach out to every corner of America with the message of freedom and opportunity. Recently, she led House efforts to connect with Millennials and established the Spanish-language Twitter feed @GOPEspanol. Since 2004, McMorris Rodgers has promoted high-technology innovation and the development of diverse energy resources. Her bill expanding the use of small hydropower passed the House unanimously in February. McMorris Rodgers holds an M.B.A. from the University of Washington.
