Cedric Pendleton
Actor, Artist, and Activist whose comedic skills have created an entrepreneurial path of success
Cedric Pendleton was born in Florence, Alabama, an area known as The Shoals, home of W.C. Handy and Helen Keller. His parents were school teachers, his father, was also a politician and civil rights leader, and his brother is an accomplished visual artist based in Atlanta.
Cedric Pendleton graduated from DeVry Institute in Computer Sciences and went on to sell banking software and participate in many large-company installations. Having an undeniable desire to perform, Pendleton studied acting at Actors Express Theater Company and went on to appear in theater productions from Atlanta to New York.
His subsequent work in commercials, voice over, and industrials led to roles in independent films, and, inevitably, Los Angeles. He won winning roles in hit features such as Runaway Jury, Summer Catch, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea’s Family Reunion, and Unconditional.
He has had supporting and recurring roles in several hit television shows including The Fantasia Barino Story, The Shield, The Guardian, One Tree Hill, Dawson’s Creek, Strong Medicine, True Blood, CSI: NY, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, Let’s Stay Together and the Have’s and Have Nots.
An active member of the community, Cedric founded Gold Drops of Life, a private, residential, personal-- care facility for Alzheimer patients. He has also taught public speaking, acting, and improvisation skills in various capacities. He was co-founder of Revelation Generation, a theatre troupe that operated out of an inner city church in Atlanta. He has served as a Resident Drama Instructor for Young Audiences, Inc., which operated in low-income housing developments. He acted as the Artistic Director for the SIMBA Program, an initiative that uses the arts as a therapeutic means of rehabilitation in the Juvenile Justice System.
Cedric parlayed his various talents and skills into the business side of arts and entertainment. Founder and principle of Footprints Entertainment, LLC., he has successfully produced a wide variety of events, including touring concerts, festivals, touring plays (including Tyler Perry’s, I Know I’ve Been Changed), church conferences, and poetry slams. He is directly responsible for negotiating several intellectual properties including national books, film, and television properties.
He is currently developing an anti-bully play for the stage and projects for film and television.
