Cedric Sanders
Cedric Sanders is an actor known for his roles in "American Gangster," "The Social Network" and the upcoming TV series "Mind Games."
Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Cedric Sanders developed an interest in acting his sophomore year, after his high school drama teacher asked him to audition for the lead in the school's rock musical, "The Me Nobody Knows." The director heard Sanders sing the national anthem at a school pep rally and was certain he was the right fit for the role of Clorox.
After earning rave reviews from the school paper and outside viewers, Cedric took his acting to the next level by auditioning and earning a full scholarship to the Fairbanks University Summer Fine Arts Camp. It was there he decided acting would be his career. Sanders went on to star in other high school productions like "Arsenic and Old Lace," "The Crucible" and his dream role, The Scarecrow, in "The Wiz." After high school, Sanders eventually attended Howard University as a theatre major with a concentration in acting...Cedric earned a BFA in acting in 2004, and oddly enough, his first professional job after Howard was a workshop for the revival of "The Me Nobody Knows," reviving his role as Clorox.
Sadly, the workshop never made it to Broadway, but he was spotted by several agents and was signed a few weeks after the production. After a year of auditioning, projects started saying "yes" instead of "no." Starring opposite Jessica Alba and Paul Rudd, this talented young actor got the start of a lifetime in his breakout film "The Ten." His second film came quickly when he landed a feature role in "American Gangster" opposite Oscar winner Denzel Washington. Recently, Sanders won a NAACP Award for Best Actor for his lead role in "The Least Among You," starring opposite Oscar winner Lou Gossett Jr. at the San Diego Black Film Festival. His most recent films include "The Social Network," and "Rocksteady." Television credits include "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "Bones."
Sanders also has a role in the new ABC TV series "Mind Games," starring Christian Slater and Steve Zahn.
