Charlie Davies
Broadcaster, Soccer Analyst, Former Olympian & Member of the US National Men's Soccer Team; Director of the 'Quin Impact Fund
Olympian, professional soccer player, and philanthropist Charlie Davies has had an international career spanning twelve years, playing in Sweden, France, Denmark, and Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. He represented the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team at the 2008 Olympics, as well as in other major tournaments such as the Gold Cup and the Confederations Cup. Davies currently serves as a broadcast analyst for Major League Soccer and CBS Sports, and as a broadcast analyst for the New England Revolution. He also co-hosts "Call It What You Want," a U.S. soccer podcast for CBS. As the Director of The 'Quin Impact Fund at The 'Quin House, Davies directs the club’s fundraising initiatives, programming, and fosters relationships with nonprofits and corporations.
Davies is deeply involved in community service and serves on the Philanthropic Board of Advisors at Boston Children’s Hospital, and on the boards of Beacon Academy and Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art. A U.S. Soccer Foundation Ambassador and a former New England Revolution Club Ambassador, he focuses on sponsorships, fundraising, and community relations. A survivor of liposarcoma, a rare type of cancer, Davies is a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society’s “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign. His volunteer work includes contributions to The Steve Nash Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club of Boston, and Horizons for the Homeless, among others.
As a speaker, Davies shares his personal journey of overcoming significant challenges, including a serious car accident and a battle with cancer, to achieve his dreams of becoming an Olympian and a professional athlete. He discusses the power of a positive mindset, resilience, and the impact of philanthropy. Davies has spoken at various events including TEDxBoston, Boston Scores, and the US Soccer Symposium, using his platform to inspire and make a difference in the community.
