Charlotte Howard  

Health Editor, The Economist

Charlotte Howard is the Health Care correspondent for The Economist. She covers health policy and global health issues, including infectious diseases and the rise of chronic conditions in emerging markets. She also writes about the business of health care, including hospitals, insurers and the pharmaceutical industry.

From 2007 to 2011 she was The Economist’s Midwest Correspondent, based in Chicago. While in the Midwest she covered politics and a range of policy issues, such as education, agriculture and transport. From 2004 to 2007 she was an editor for The Economist’s website. She is a graduate of Yale University.
