Writer, Artist, Composer & Actor Known for "House" and "Steven Universe"

Charlyne Yi (they/them) is queer, gender-fluid, Filipinx, Mexican, and Korean. They are a writer, composer, performing artist, painter, animator, composer, and hosts art decompression workshops.

Their screenwriting debut, the feature film Paper Heart, won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. They are also known for their role as Dr. Chi Park on the Fox medical drama "House," the voice of the Rubies on the Cartoon Network animated series "Steven Universe," the voice of Chloe Park on "We Bare Bears," the voice of Alice on "Summer Camp Island," and the voice of Mai in "Next Gen."

Yi wrote an illustrated collection of folktales called "Oh the Moon," published by Harper Perennial. Their latest book is a poetry book, "You Can’t Kill Me Twice (so please treat me right)," published by Andrews McMeel.

Yi has also composed the score for Bobcat Goldthwait's documentary, "Call Me Lucky," among others, and has been in various punk and indie bands.
