Chelsea Roff

author, speaker, and Founder of Eat Breathe Thrive™.

Chelsea Roff is a nationally-recognized author, speaker, and the Founder of Eat Breathe Thrive™.

At 15, Chelsea had a stroke brought on by severe anorexia. She was taken to a hospital, put into foster care, and after 18 months of treatment ventured out on her own. Her extraordinary story of recovery has been showcased by Sanjay Gupta on CNN, and she has since gone on to found a non-profit organization that prevents and helps people fully recover from eating disorders through programs that integrate yoga, service and community support. Last year, Chelsea’s renowned rooftop #OccupyYouAreBeautiful campaign raised $51,000 to offer the programs in treatment centers around the country and conduct an evidence-based study on their effectiveness in treatment.

Chelsea is known for her intelligent, inspiring, and tell-it-like-it-is speaking style, and for weaving together profound personal experiences with her scientific background to deliver deeply moving insights. She connects deeply with young people, parents, mental health practitioners, and educators alike. Prior to her work in eating disorder advocacy, Chelsea worked as a researcher in a Psychoneuroimmunology laboratory, and her Honors Thesis examined how mind-body practices like yoga can improve the outcome of chronic immune diseases like HIV/AIDS and cancer.

Chelsea currently lives in Venice, California, where she can be found cartwheeling across the beach, hiking in the mountains, and practicing yoga poses on her little pink scooter.
