Chip Johnson grew up in Wytheville, a small town in Southwest Virginia. He landed his first job with Acrylife, Inc., his father’s roofing company, in 2001 and has been passionate about small business and entrepreneurship ever since. Chip attended the University of Virginia where he attained degrees in Commerce and Government. While a student at UVa, Chip founded the UVa Chapter of the Roosevelt Institution (now Roosevelt Institute Campus Network), the nation’s first student-run think tank, and interned with the Energy and Commerce Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. After graduating college, Chip worked for McColl Partners, a Charlotte-based middle-market investment bank, and later joined Falfurrias Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity fund focused on making equity investments in growing companies located in the Southeast. Chip currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Instrument Transformer Equipment Corporation, a manufacturer of mission critical electrical equipment for the power utility industry. Chip enjoys working with Habitat for Humanity and serves on the University of Virginia Giving Committee for the Class of 2007. Chip credits most of his success to his supportive family, including his beautiful wife Jenna.
