Chief Marketing Officer at Chipotle

Chris Brandt is the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for Chipotle Mexican Grill. Since joining the company in April 2018, he has focused on transforming Chipotle into a purpose-driven lifestyle brand, making it more visible and culturally relevant with consumers.

Building brand engagement and affinity, Brandt has created award-winning marketing campaigns for Chipotle and was Adweek’s Top CMO in 2021; named to "The 25 Most Innovative CMOs In The World" by Business Insider in 2020 and 2021; won Adweek’s CMO Vanguard Award winner in 2020; was honored as Mobile Marketer's Executive of the Year in 2019; and was the American Business Award’s "Marketing Executive of the Year" Silver Stevie Winner in 2019 and 2020.

Prior to joining Chipotle, Brandt was Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer of Bloomin’ Brands, Inc., where he was responsible for all marketing activities across Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s, Bonefish Grill, and Fleming’s. He also served as the Chief Brand Officer for Taco Bell, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., where he launched Live Mas, Doritos Locos Tacos, breakfast, and the mobile app.

Brandt has an undergraduate degree in economics from The University of California, San Diego and a Master of Business Administration from the Anderson School at The University of California, Los Angeles.
