Chris Daughtry is a singer, songwriter, musician and actor best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the rock band Daughtry. He first came to prominence after placing fourth in the fifth season of "American Idol." After being eliminated from the show, he given a record deal by RCA Records and formed a band called Daughtry with bassist Julia Driscoll from "Adults in the Middle of the Street." The band's self-titled first album sold one million copies after just five weeks of release, making it the fastest selling debut rock album in Nielsen SoundScan history.

The band Daughtry has released six albums, "Daughtry" in 2006, "Leave this Town" in 2009, "Break the Spell" in 2011, "Baptized" in 2013, and "Cage to Rattle" in 2018. With the band, Daughtry is one of five "American Idol" contestants to reach number one in Billboard 200.

In terms of in terms of record sales, Daughtry is the third most successful "American Idol" contestant, with Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson being the only two ahead of him, though both Underwood and Clarkson won their respective seasons.

Daughtry has also collaborated with other artists. He provided vocals for the band Sevendust, Theory of a Deadman, and Third Day, and co-wrote songs for the band Day of Fire. Daughtry made his acting debut in the 100th episode of CSI: New York. In March 2016, he played Judas Iscariot in the Biblical live version of "The Passion." Daughtry is a longtime fan of comics and in 2016, his first published comic book art appeared as a variant cover to Batman (Volume 2) #50.
