Chris DeRose is a global business advisor, researcher, and author. He assists business leaders to improve their organization’s growth and profitability while concurrently developing the next generation of leadership. Chris specializes in the design of strategic talent development, succession and organizational alignment processes.

His extensive research and consultation has taken place in multiple industries including technology, financial services, pharmaceutical, energy, agriculture, publishing, automotive, retail and consumer goods. He has consulted and taught around the world with some of the largest Fortune 500 firms while also assisting fast-growth, entrepreneur-driven companies.

Some of his most rewarding work has been with non-profit organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs and United Way. His work has also included service to the government and military sector with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense and Naval Special Warfare.

Chris is co-author (with Noel Tichy) of Judgment on the Frontline and has authored or co-authored numerous book chapters, development handbooks, and articles for publications such as Fortune Magazine, Forbes and Training & Development. His opinions and quotations have been featured in media outlets such as Bloomberg Businessweek, Fast Company, CNN and Fox Business.

DeRose is a senior partner with Action Learning Associates, a consulting firm specializing in development and delivery of CEO-driven, large-scale transformation. He previously taught Executive Education and was an associate of the University of Michigan Ross Business School’s Global Business Partnership. He currently teaches graduate students at the University of Connecticut.

His recent research has focused on emerging leadership models and employee retention.
