Chris Emery
American Author & Former Government Official of 29 Years; Worked Directly for Three U.S. Presidents
Chris Emery has written four books and is actively working on his fifth and sixth.
He is an accomplished professional with over four decades of experience in information technology, including 29 years serving the federal government in senior roles. From 1986 to 1994, Emery held one of the most unique positions in the U.S. government—serving as a White House Usher. The Usher’s Office manages the Executive Residence, its staff, and the White House’s 18-acre grounds. In this role, Emery was entrusted with working closely with the First Family in managing the day-to-day operations of the White House Executive Residence, the home of the First Family. Over his tenure, Emery had the honor of meeting seven U.S. Presidents and directly serving three—Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
Emery’s extensive federal career also included top-tier positions in various government agencies. As a senior executive at the Department of Justice, he served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the National Security Division, a vital link between the Attorney General and the Intelligence Community. His work necessitated a top-secret clearance which led to significant contributions at the White House, U.S. Congress, the Department of Homeland Security, and other key entities.
Beyond his federal service, Emery is an engaging speaker who has delivered over 100 presentations nationwide. He has been a keynote speaker for diverse audiences, including civic groups, libraries, schools, military bases, and professional organizations such as Rotary Clubs. His appearances on CNN and other major networks have further amplified his insights and experiences.
Emery’s unique blend of professional expertise and personal anecdotes provides an inspiring perspective on public service, history, and leadership.
