A gifted performer with a knack for immersing himself into characters, Chris Lilley was an actor and writer who rose to fame on "mockumentary"-style comedies in his native Australia. Audiences Down Under got their first taste of his talents on the sketch comedies "Big Bite" and "We Can Be Heroes," which served as the launching pad for some of his more popular characters like the vicious schoolgirl Ja'mie King and Mr. G, a deeply deluded drama teacher. Both misguided souls returned for Lilley's successful follow-up, "Summer Heights High," which was picked up for syndication by HBO in 2008. The acquisition served as official notice to the rest of the globe as to what Australian TV viewers knew all along - that Chris Lilley was a formidable comic talent on the rise.

His next venture, the much anticipated "Angry Boys," aired on ABC in Australia and BBC in the UK in 2011 and HBO in the US in 2012. The 12-part comedy series brought to life six vastly different characters and was met by worldwide acclaim and sold to over 100 countries. In Australia, "Angry Boys" remains the most popular program to date on ABC TV’s iView with over 1.4 million plays. Lilley plays multiple new characters in his third mockumentary series. The show introduces: S.mouse!, a US rapper; Jen Okazaki, a manipulative Japanese mother; Blake Oakfield, a champion surfer; Ruth "Gran" Sims, a guard at a juvenile detention facility; and her grandchildren, South Australian twins Daniel and Nathan Sims who also featured in "We Can Be Heroes."

Lilley's new series "Ja'mie: Private School Girl" was released in 2013. Ja'mie King is a returning character from "We Can Be Heroes" and "Summer Heights High."
