Chris Sacca

Venture Investor & Entrepreneur; Founder, Lowercase Capital & the Environmentally Conscious Lowercarbon Capital

Chris Sacca, a prominent figure in the world of venture capital, is best known as the founder of Lowercase Capital, a company that has significantly contributed to the growth of numerous technology firms. His keen eye for promising startups led to early investments in several major companies such as Twitter, Uber, and Instagram, earning him a well-deserved spot on Forbes' Midas List: Top Tech Investors in 2017. Sacca's influence reached beyond the boardroom and into the living rooms of millions as a "Guest Shark" on ABC's "Shark Tank" from 2015 to 2020.

Despite retiring from venture investing in 2017, Sacca couldn't resist the call of entrepreneurship and returned in 2021 with a new venture, Lowercarbon Capital. With a focus on climate issues, this venture showcases his commitment to environmental sustainability. His venture raised an impressive $800 million in its first outside funding round in August 2021. Alongside his business pursuits, Sacca also appeared in popular TV series such as "Billions" and "Alex, Inc." where he played himself. Additionally, through his holding company Lowercase Capital, he manages a portfolio of over three dozen consumer web, mobile, cloud, and wireless technology startups, as well as an array of mature enterprises.

Sacca's influence also extends to the political sphere, having served as a Telecommunications, Media, and Technology advisor to Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. His involvement with political campaigns continued with active support for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and opposition to Donald Trump's reelection through contributions to the Lincoln Project. Sacca's philanthropic endeavors are also noteworthy, with him and his wife, Crystal Sacca, committing to the Giving Pledge, pledging to donate the majority of their wealth to philanthropic causes. His keynote presentations explore Google’s culture of innovation, including the company’s overarching strategies and concrete tools and processes. He also shares insights on how Twitter grew its business by 400% in three months and discusses principles such as focusing on users rather than problems, following customer feedback, and continuous evolution to foster innovative and successful business environments.
