Chrisette Michele

Grammy Award-Winning Contemporary R&B and Soul Singer/Songwriter

Chrisette Michele, an R&B and soul singer, began her successful career with her debut album, "I Am," in 2007. She was recognized early on for her talent when she won a Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance in 2009 for her song "Be OK." In addition to her own works, Michele has been featured on several hip hop albums, including The Game's "LAX" and Jay-Z's "Kingdom Come," and has collaborated with notable artists such as 2 Chainz and Wale. Despite facing professional challenges, including being dropped from her label in 2017, she has remained resilient and announced plans to release new music independently through her own label, Rich Hipster.

Throughout her career, Michele has demonstrated her versatility and talent not only as a singer but also as a songwriter, having written a song for Tyler Perry's "House of Payne." Her abilities have been recognized with her second album, "Epiphany," debuting at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Her third studio album, "Let Freedom Reign," was released in 2010, and her fourth album, "Better," which was released in 2013, was nominated for Best R&B Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards. In addition to her album releases, Michele has released two mixtapes: "Love Thy Brother" and "Audrey Hepburn: An Audiovisual Presentation."

Outside of music, Michele has also showcased her talents in television, having guest-starred as herself in The CW's "Girlfriends" and joined the cast of "R&B Divas LA" for its second season. She is also recognized for her live performances, having embarked on a nationwide co-headlining tour with fellow soul singer Raheem DeVaughn called the Art of Love Tour and performed twice at the Evening of Stars: A Tribute to Patti LaBelle. Lastly, she was inducted as an honorary member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. in 2023.
