Co-Chair Marketing Advisory Committee, Acting Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Boston 2024 Partnership

Christa Carone is Co-Chair, Marketing Advisory Committee and acting Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for the Boston 2024 Partnership which is the organization charged with developing Boston’s bid, and the U.S.’ only representative city, for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Formerly, an executive vice president at Fidelity Investments, a leading provider of financial products and services to more than 20 million individuals, institutions and financial intermediaries. In her most recent role, Christa applied her decades of marketing and communications experience to shaping brands and go-to-market strategies for Fidelity’s diversified businesses. She served as an in-house marketing strategist for new business ventures, developing and consulting on market segmentation, brand purpose and identity, stakeholder engagement and integrated online/offline marketing communication campaigns.

Christa is formerly the executive vice president of communications and corporate affairs for Fidelity, responsible for developing enterprise-wide communication strategies and leading Fidelity’s corporate affairs, media relations, internal communications, digital content, executive communications and events management.

Prior to joining Fidelity in 2013, Christa spent 17 years in increasingly senior roles at Xerox Corporation, most recently serving as chief marketing officer. She led global marketing strategy and initiatives that included all communication touch points across paid, earned and owned channels of engagement with Xerox stakeholders. Her responsibilities included brand management, advertising, experiential marketing, public relations, internal communications, integrated campaigns, interactive and social marketing, citizenship and the Xerox Foundation.

Prior to being appointed CMO in 2008, Christa was vice president of global communications, leading Xerox’s public relations, internal and corporate communications, and community relations initiatives. She joined Xerox in 1996 as communications manager for the company’s manufacturing and supply chain division, was named corporate media relations manager in 1998, and became head of corporate public relations in 2001.

Christa received her bachelor of arts degree in communications from the State University of New YorkCollege at Geneseo. She is a member of M50, the Arthur Page Society, an advisory board member for the Center for Reputation Management at Drexel University, and a board director of the software company, etouches.

Christa is known for offering points of view on marketing and communications for the Forbes CMO network, Fast Company, Harvard Business Review and Ad Age. In 2013, she was named one of the best marketers of the year by BtoB Magazine for the third consecutive year. In 2012 and 2013, she was named among the most influential marketing and communication professionals in business by Appinions, and in 2011, was honored by The Holmes Report as one of the world’s most influential communicators.
