Christi Paul is currently the anchor of the "What’s Now" 5pm newscast on WKYC-TV in Cleveland. Before joining WKYC-TV, she was an anchor and reporter for HLN's "Raising America" with Kyra Phillips at noon and an anchor on CNN. She has authored "Love Isn't Supposed to Hurt," a top 20 Amazon bestseller that discusses overcoming emotional and verbal abuse. Paul has also recorded songs related to her book, including "Wake Up In It" and "Free," which are available on iTunes.
Paul's journalism career has seen her cover significant events such as the 2020 and 2016 Presidential Elections, the Russian war on Ukraine, and the Covid-19 pandemic. During her tenure at CNN/HLN, she covered President Obama’s second Inauguration, the Newtown, CT school shootings, the Virginia Tech shooting, Hurricane Sandy, and several high-profile court cases. She has also conducted notable interviews, including an exclusive with then-Vice-President Joe Biden. Her segment "Find Our Children," in partnership with The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, has successfully located 35 missing children, earning her the 2012 "Hope Award" from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Beyond journalism, Paul is recognized for her singing talents. She has performed with Grammy winners David Foster and Richard Marx and has been the featured National Anthem singer at major sports events for teams including the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Cavaliers. She was awarded an honorary doctorate and named an “Outstanding Alumni” by the University of Toledo. As a committed advocate for children and teens, she serves on the National Advisory Council for the One Love Foundation and is involved with Girl Talk Inc, where high school girls mentor middle school girls to build self-esteem and combat bullying. She balances her professional achievements with her role as a wife and mother to three daughters.
