Christie Rampone

Former Captain of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team; Two-Time Olympic Gold Medalist

Christie Pearce Rampone is the most decorated American professional soccer player of all time. A legend in women's soccer, she is now an active speaker, coach, and sports broadcaster. Pearce Rampone's illustrious playing career includes participating in five FIFA Women’s World Cup finals and four Olympic women’s soccer tournaments. She is a two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, having secured titles in 1999 and 2015, and a three-time Olympic gold medalist, with victories at the 2004 Athens Olympics, 2008 Beijing Olympics, and 2012 London Olympics. Pearce Rampone holds the distinction of being the oldest player to have competed in a FIFA Women’s World Cup game and is the second-most "capped" player in both U.S. and world history, representing the U.S. in 311 international matches.

Her professional club career began in the W-League from 1997 to 1998. Pearce Rampone was a founding player in all three iterations of women's professional leagues in the United States. She competed in the WUSA (Women’s United Soccer Association) from 2001 to 2003 and the WPS (Women’s Professional Soccer) from 2009 to 2011. During the WPS’ 2009 inaugural season, she remarkably took on the role of player/head coach for Sky Blue FC and led the team to an unexpected WPS Championship, earning her the WPS Sportswoman of the Year title. From 2013 to 2017, she played in the NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League), continuing to captain Sky Blue FC in her home state of New Jersey, leaving an indelible legacy on and off the field.

Since retiring, Pearce Rampone has worked as a broadcaster for FOX Sports, covering the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. She was an integral part of the network’s coverage of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Pearce Rampone holds a BA in Special Education from Monmouth University and an honorary doctoral degree in public service. She remains actively involved in sports, coaching high school and club soccer and basketball teams. A devoted sports mom to her two daughters, Rylie and Reece, who are involved in soccer, basketball, softball, dance, and swimming, Pearce Rampone embodies the ultimate "Soccer Supermom." Her daughters have traveled with her around the world, becoming the unofficial mascots of her teams and the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team.

Pearce Rampone resides on the Jersey Shore with her fiancé, Christy Holly, her two daughters, and their lively Brittany/German shorthaired pointer mix, Lucky.
