Christina Applegate is an actress known for her roles in multiple award-winning television shows and films. Her most widely recognized role was as Kelly Bundy in the comedy sitcom "Married... With Children." This role catapulted Applegate into the public eye, and she has continued to create a substantial body of work in the entertainment industry. Her film roles have included key parts in "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead," "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," and "Bad Moms."

In addition to her film work, Applegate has excelled in television roles, such as the title character in the sitcom "Jesse," which earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination. She has also been recognized for her guest role in the NBC sitcom "Friends," for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award. Applegate's role in the sitcom "Samantha Who?" led to multiple nominations for Primetime Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. Off screen, Applegate has been open about her health struggles. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and underwent a double mastectomy. In 2021, she announced that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The disease heavily affected her ability to perform in the final season of "Dead to Me," and following its run, Applegate announced she probably would no longer act on camera, but that she would be open to voiceover work in addition to working behind the scenes.

Applegate's philanthropic endeavors are extensive. She has supported various causes, notably breast cancer education and research, through organizations such as the Entertainment Industry Foundation and the Lee National Denim Day. In 2009, she founded Right Action for Women, a charitable foundation focused on breast cancer screening. This commitment to philanthropy earned her the Saint Vintage Love Cures Award in 2015 for her dedication to and work with Right Action for Women. In recognition of her career and contributions, Applegate received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2022.
