Clay Walker
Country Music Artist Known For "What's It to You" & Multiple Sclerosis Survivor & Founder of Band Against MS
Clay Walker is an American country music artist. He made his debut in 1993 with the single "What's It to You," which, along with its follow-up, 1994's "Live Until I Die," reached Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Both singles were included on his self-titled debut album, released in 1993 via Giant Records. His relationship with the label extended until its 2001 closure, after which he recorded for Warner Bros. Records, RCA Records Nashville, and Curb Records. Over his career, Walker has released a total of eleven studio albums, including a greatest hits package and an album of Christmas music.
Walker has charted more than thirty singles on Hot Country Songs, of which six have reached number one: "What's It to You," "Live Until I Die," "Dreaming with My Eyes Open," "If I Could Make a Living," "This Woman and This Man," and "Rumor Has It." His musical influences include George Jones, James Taylor, and Bob Seger, and his music has been described as having Texas bar-room roots. Walker's most recent album, "Texas to Tennessee," was released in July 2021 under Show Dog Nashville.
Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1996, Walker has participated in numerous charity works to help raise awareness of the disease. In 2003, he founded his own non-profit charity, Band Against MS, and has been recognized with a Humanitarian Award for his efforts. Furthering his involvement in the community, Walker has also been inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2015. In his personal life, Walker is a father of seven.
