Cliff Floyd

Former Outfielder for the Florida Marlins

With junior and senior seasons of hitting .508 and 130 RBIs, Cliff Floyd drew plenty of attention as a high school baseball standout. He passed on numerous college offers when he was drafted 14th overall in the 1991 MLB Draft by the Montreal Expos. After two seasons in the minors, Floyd made his MLB debut in 1993 with the Expos where he served in primarily back up roles until 2007 when he was traded to the Florida Marlins. He earned a starting role with the Marlins in 1998 and had one of his best seasons in 2000 with a .300 average and 91 RBIs in 420 plate appearances. Floyd was traded back to the Expos in 2002 and shortly after was traded to the Boston Red Sox. The following season he was traded to the New York Mets but was hampered by injuries for majority of the following seasons. Floyd had one more good season in the MLB when he hit 34 home runs for the Mets in 2005. Floyd currently is a sports broadcaster for NBC Sports Network.
