Transforming Abilities: Mastering the Art of Transforming Disadvantages into Advantages

When we are faced with adversity regardless of its level of extremity it's something that can also be seen as an opportunity for greater growth and enhance one's psychological energy. It's been said, "Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react." When faced with the greatest challenge of physically and psychologically rehabilitating oneself from the onset of a traumatic long-term acquired injury (spinal cord injury, amputation of body part, etc.) the first step may be to establish a daily goal of making at least one person laugh and-or smile. We can come to realize ways that we can take disadvantages and over time we can develop ways of transforming them into advantages.
