Outside of SNL, Jost has made appearances in various television shows and movies, including a cameo in the 2024 film "Fly Me to the Moon," which starred his wife Scarlett Johansson, and the Universal wedding comedy "Worst Man." He also portrayed Pete Buttigieg on SNL during its 45th season. In 2020, Jost published a memoir titled “A Very Punchable Face,” which received praise for its humor and insight into his life and career and earned a spot on the New York Times Bestseller List.

Jost also ventured into game show hosting, appearing as the host of "Pop Culture Jeopardy" on Amazon Prime Video in 2024. The same year, Jost served as a correspondent for the Olympics surfing events in Tahiti, assigned by NBC Sports. He took on hosting duties for the Primetime Emmy Awards in September 2018 and the White House Correspondents' Dinner in April 2024.
