To Whom It May Concern:

As the Co-Founder and Head Instructor for the Excelsus Foundation (Oakland, California), I would like to speak to and conduct professional development workshops for both African-American and non-African-American communities (e.g., schools, churches, etc.) nationwide about how to better support African-American boys in schools (public and private) and about which steps to take in order to narrow the achievement gap between black and white students in America's middle and high schools. According to McKinsey & Company's 2009 report "The Economic Impact of the Achievement Gap in America's Schools," black and Latino students are two grade levels behind white students of the same age.

Founded in May of 2009, the Excelsus Foundation (http://www.excelsusfoundation.com) is an educational trust that provides a suite of academic and mentoring services for African-American boys in grades 4-12, as well as consulting services for independent and public schools that are seeking additional support for African-American boys, professional development for young teachers, and diversity workshops for faculty and staff.

In short, I am seeking an agent or a speaker's bureau to arrange such workshops and lectures that I would deliver to interested parties on a national level.

At your earliest convenience, I would look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Corey Olds Co-Founder, Excelsus Foundation www.excelsusfoundation.com
