Corey Rae

Activist, Actress, Model & Writer; World’s First Openly Transgender Prom Queen

Corey Rae is an activist, actress, consultant, model, producer, speaker, and writer who aims to break stigmatizations surrounding the transgender community by living her true, authentic self out loud.

Rae offers support to individuals that struggle with their gender identity, the transition process, coming out, or feeling like their most beautiful selves. She also informs the cisgender community on what it’s like to be transgender, and helps change their perceptions through different mediums. Rae has both a strong academic knowledge and personal experience with the LGBTQIA+ community. She minored in sociology with an emphasis on gender and sexuality at Hofstra University and the University of Amsterdam. In her blog, I’m Corey Rae, she writes about her journey and shares the stories of inspiring LGBTQIA+ members.

Today, Rae works with corporations, brands, and services that are good for both people and the planet. She has also spoken at many conferences and corporations, including Lululemon, Hilton, Verizon, and MAKERS conference. She became an IPSY beauty brand ambassador, modeling in their first campaign, “Discover Yourself.”

Rae's popular writing includes “How I Became the World’s First Transgender Prom Queen — A Personal Essay,” where she shares her real-life high school transition process and how she became the world’s first openly transgender prom queen. Her story is in production for a feature film, titled Queen, in which Rae is also an Executive Producer.
