Dr. Courtney Burnett, MD is a hospital medicine physician living and working with brain cancer. Dr. Burnett writes a well-known blog, “Elephant, Lotus, Brain Tumor” and is the author of an award-winning memoir, "Difficult Gifts: A Physician's Journey to Heal Body and Mind."

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Burnett is a speaker and advocate focused on brain and rare cancer awareness, disability inclusion, and patient advocacy. Regardless of the unexpected situations life brings, Dr. Burnett believes the power of hope, mindfulness, and vulnerable storytelling can help us all find the gift in the difficulty.
