Tall Ship officer, people engagement strategies from the world of Tall Ships

Is your organizations future threatened by the need to find and keep key talent?

Does Boomer Gen X Gen Y = high performance in your organization?

Do you need real world leadership expertise to strengthen your engagement strategy?

To be the employer of choice in our increasingly competitive labour market, you need an engagement strategy that brings out the best in your people and creates strong, lasting teams. You can build teams as strong and engaged as a ship's crew.

A ship's crew must consistently perform at its best in the most demanding circumstances. The life and death challenges of the sea must be met with the strengths of mutual trust, clarity of purpose, and a high degree of self-organization and initiative.

From the world of international Tall Ships, and from the Canadian Maritimes' own Nova Scotia Sea School, Crane brings the lessons of crew building ashore to help you build strong, engaged teams for your organization.

Crane is a professional mariner and Tall Ship deck officer with more than 20 years experience of working with crews at sea. He is the founder of the adventure voyaging program the Nova Scotia Sea School, and was awarded the Queens Jubilee Medal for the Sea Schools contribution to Canadian society.

Crane has a Masters degree from Harvard University, and serves on the faculty at the ALIA Institute for Authentic Leadership in Action. He is publishing a new book, on leadership lessons from the sea, in the fall of 2011.

KEYNOTE PRESENTATION "Keep Your People in the Boat; Workforce Engagement Strategies from the World of Tall Ships" With beautiful images, vivid sea stories and real life examples of effective crew engagement practices that work in your business as well as at sea, Crane will show you how to make your team as strong and high-performing as a true ships crew.
