Cynthia Owyoung is the Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion at Charles Schwab. Owyoung is also the founder and CEO of Breaking Glass Forums, which promotes and accelerates diverse leadership and organizations through consultation, leadership development, and alliance-building services. In 2016, Breaking Glass Forums launched the annual Women of Color Leadership Forum.

Owyoung has established and led diversity and inclusion initiatives for over 15 years at organizations both large and small, including GitHub, Yahoo, and Intuit. She is known for integrating a diversity and inclusion lens into all aspects of the business, from talent management to product development.

Prior to her calling in human resources, she also built a decade-long career as a brand strategist for leading global brands and advertising agencies, developing campaigns for Microsoft, Levi Strauss, and Apple.

She serves as the vice president of the board for Abilities United, a nonprofit that serves disabled people. Owyoung's passion for helping those with developmental disabilities stems from her experiences with her brother, who himself has developmental disabilities.

Owyoung earned an MBA in human resources from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in marketing and finance and psychology, both from the University of California, Berkeley.

Owyoung and her family live in the San Francisco Bay area.
